A road was closed in Bury for a few hours today, Friday, after a HGV struck an overhanging tree.
The tree was trapped on the vehicle after the collision, which happened on The Drive, off Walmersley Road, at around 11.20am.
Firefighters were called and the tree was cut free from crews and council workers before it was moved from the road.
No injuries were reported.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: “At around 11.20am today, Friday, one fire engine from Heywood fire station and the technical response unit from Leigh fire station were called to reports of a heavy goods vehicle coming into contact with an overhanging tree, trapping the tree in the road on The Drive, Bury.
“Firefighters set up cordons and worked alongside colleagues from Bury Council to cut the tree and free it from the vehicle and move it from the road.
"Crews made the area safe and were in attendance for around three hours.”
Sharing pictures from the incident, Greater Manchester Police spokesperson added: "Traffic PCSOs assisted GMFRS and Bury Council at this incident in Bury.
"An articulated HGV was 'cut' in two by a collapsing tree between the cab and trailer.
Driver uninjured. No damage to property. Road closed while the tree was felled and chopped up."
